Welcome to VBC

Visiting church for the first time is exciting but can be a little intimidating. Read below for some things you can expect when you visit us!

What does a typical Sunday Morning Look Like?

Join us for Sunday School @ 9:00A.M. We have a women's, men's, and children's group. We usually go through studies in different Bible books, or we read through books on Christian topics together and discuss it during this time. Those groups end at 10:00a.m. and after that, people usually congregate in the foyer where we always have coffee, and sometimes pastries, and people catch up and socialize. Worship (you might know it as the church service) starts at 10:30a.m. and we always start with an opening Scripture reading, followed by announcements, a time of praise and worship music (usually three songs), a time of worship through giving (we don't expect visitors to give), then the sermon by Pastor Austin, followed by the congregational prayer which concludes the time of worship (needs, requests, and thanksgiving/praises made by people in the congregation, community, and friends). We usually end slightly before 12:00PM, just so you can know how to plan your day. On the first Sunday of each month, we have Communion, or the Lord's Table, as some call it. Once a quarter, we have fellowship luncheons immediately following worship, which are potluck style.

Join us on Sunday!

Our building is on the corner of Sconondoa and Mill St. in Vernon. Enter the building through the Mill Street entrance. You'll see the staircase and the ramp attached for those needing extra assistance. We'd love to welcome you, give you a visitor packet, and offer you a coffee!

Kids Ministry

We can't wait to meet you this Sunday. We have trusted, vetted volunteers, who will teach your kids a Bible lesson during the service. We have a child protection policy in place to ensure the safety and comfort of our parents. When it comes to children's ministry, safety is our highest priority.
